Whats next filter up to replace Fram ultra's...

I would order the larger filter for the capacity you will need for the extended OCI's. Rockauto is an excellent option if buying several to keep on hand.
Yeah i compared it to the fram its much shorter but wider. Not sure I would know what the next size up would be, maybe if I cross referenced to the 7317 fram. This was just the filter that rockauto and advanced specified for the car.

My understanding is ine uoa doesn't really provide much, what I remember reading is you want to do them consistently to build up a history at least on the engine part. It will for sure let you know about the oil life, why I prefer OAI they will provide tbn information if I remember correctly.
Ive already received 3 test kits from them.
I commute in long distances, no stop and go traffic until the last 5-7 miles. Want to know which oil goes how far. Choose the cheaper one. AMSOIL Signature Series OR Mobil 1 Extended Performance.

M1
Carquest Premium xp (twice the price unless you purchase oil and they can't match Supertech oil price)\
Wix xp, purolater boss (i've read that they are not the best)
other options?
If you're looking for a 20K mile rated oil filter (seems to be your target), and also want high efficiency, then the CarQuest Extended Performance (99% @ 25u) or the Mobil 1 (99% @ 30u) are the best out of that group you list. These days people are going to be paying more for a better oil filter - just the way it is in today economy. The Boss and Gold 20K are 99% @ 45u per Purolator Tech Dept on the phone.

Sounds like a Valvoline Restore & Protect candidate, especially if it's had very long OCIs (15K+ miles).
Only one that has gone 15k others were 10k or less. I agree I would like to run valvoline restore and protect but while I think it could go 10k not sure how far past 10k and Inwould want to do some used oil analysis to see how it was faring and thats not something she is going to do.

This is what I was after, everyone want to go on about the longer oci's but i think the Mobil 1 or carquest are my best option moving forward.

I would never run Supertech oil 15k miles let alone in a Subaru.
Supertech advanced full synthetic is a dwcent oil but most can't see past the supertech name. I find it odd that I can run a synthetic oil in my wrx and drain at 5k and it still have plenty life left think that the higher grade synthetics wont do fine at 10k oci's in a na subie.

Hey but thats just me, i was asking about oil filters with fram going by the wayside and everyone got stuck on the extended oci..but I'm good with it, the synthetics these days are all very good these days...

Will the MicroGard Select MSL57055 work in your application? It's a taller filter with the same threads and gasket diameter, I run them on my Legacy sometimes.
As was mentioned, the Mobil 1 would be a good option too, if the ones for your application are made in South Korea.
I would stay away from Purolator until they figure out their quality issues...

That would be the normal plan, however these are not normal times. The filter shelves at Walmart are pretty much barren, no Mobil 1 filters in a 20mi range even though online they say they have them. I believe the lack of fram filters have depleted the Mobil 1 filters.

I am only stuck on the supertech since its a pretty dang good synthetic oil for $20, I know there are other good oils but it was hard to beat imho a $30 oil change with oil and filter.
I looked yesterday and there wasnt a single filter of any brand for the GM PF63 equivalent. Thats a lot of vehicles.

Here is the Microgard Select long version for Subaru from my Outback.

Yeah all the wally stores are like that its like they were caught off guard, not sure but the oil filter shelves are pretty sparse in my neck of the woods.

I’m OK with PG. I’m also betting Canadian Tire will move to PG just like their Part Source stores which are owned by them. The Part Source OE Plus Pro is rated to 15,000 miles. Good enough. Time to move on.

It also appears at least in one walmart store appears that they are going to replace fram with purolator which I am not a fan of, so only leaves Mobil 1 if I want to purchase something from walmart. Any option that I chose will be more expensive then the $8 fram ultra that I had been using.

Similar story here, all the common sizes of Fram are gone from my nearest half dozen Walmarts. Some have the equivalent Mobil 1, some are out of those too. The filter situation at Walmart will get worse before it gets better. Every single time I walk down that aisle there are people staring at the filter shelf in bewilderment. I think at this point Walmart must be holding the space for Premium Guard-made Frams, but assuming that sale goes through it will probably be August or September before we see those in store.

In the meantime, there is no shortage of quality filters at Oreilly, Napa, Advance, Carquest, AutoZone, or Rockauto!

I have a sophisticated reminder called an iPhone and have been nagging my grown kids wrt oil changes nonstop …
Pretty much know their mileage patterns …
Yeah i dont understand but I think yhey want you to use your phone with the newer subarus. My 2016 center dash console has a really nice unit that has all kinds of stuff including a maintenance reminder that you can set for tires, oil, etc ...her new one has the console but is static with only gas mileage and a clock. Going to see if you have to use the stupid app which I think is just well ya know
