The Honda Oil Filter Thread

The Mahle-tennex filter are beautiful.

I bought several of the baby-blue S2000 filters (Made in Thailand Mahle) and since they don't fit any of my vehicles, I've used them on some donated OCIs where they fit, like most Kias/Hyundais.

I just took one off last week and cut it open after 7k miles and it was beautiful inside. Pleats perfectly straight, even, densely packaged. The filter looked immaculate.

This was the 15400-PCX-306 oil filter (baby blue).

If these filters fit my own Hondas, I'd probably consider running them. (in reality, I'd run the larger PGI, let's be real).
I used a bunch on my '19 Pilot as the area around had enough room.

'08 CRV and '17 Accord (2.4L) have engine casting too close.

Down side is since made for the high rev, higher vibration S2000 they have 2 contact points by the P-gasket and spec is like 7/8 turn with marked numbers for correct torque. Granted it will probably work fine with less like the rest but I'd hate to not have it torqued and have it fall off. Getting that thing back off after 5k is definitely a PITA.

I posted a C&P on one not too long ago. I have many Premium Guards in supply currently between Rock Auto PG4612EX and @Hootbro. Probably about 3 years worth between the 3 Honda's.

The torque is definitely one drawback of the S2kfilter. I really, really like being able to just give a filter a good firm snug by hand and trust that it will be there until I remove it.
