I like tofu when it's just being tofu. Like in a Thai dish. I don't like when it tries to be something else. It's not a good impersonator.

I read the health risks of soy milk. Crazy amounts of health risks:
Excessive use of soy leads to breast cancer and also other cancers.
Many brands manufacturing soy milk contain more sugar and chemicals than required.
Isoflavones from soy milk are held responsible for thyroid disorder, leukemia and breast cancer.
Phytic acids in soy milk lead to low absorption of vitamins and minerals.
The high level of phytoestrogen decreases the testesterone in males. The production of sperms is affected.
Early onset of puberty as well as adolescence in males can be attributed to the phytoestrogen from soy milk.
In women, soy milk can produce abnormalities in the reproductive tract which can lead to infertility.
Estrogen in soy milk is harmful for babies.
Fatigue, fever and wheezing are some of the reactions to soy milk.
Consumption of soy milk sometimes leads to sudden skin problems like eczema, acne and swelling.
The toxic aluminum in soy milk affects the nervous system and kidneys.
Excessive consumption of soy milk generates stomach problems such as abdominal cancer.
Sometimes, it develops allergies like coughing, sneezing and congestion.

Almond milk was better. It just screws up your thyroid.

I'll stick to the cow's milk.

I made the switch from 2% to 1% years ago, and didn't really notice a difference in flavor. Still can't drink Skim; it just seems like colored water. It also won't mix with Hershey's syrup to make a good chocolate milk. Some BITOG'ers have an obsession too many different oil varieties. I have an obsession with too many chocolate milk varieties. I think I have 6 different flavors at home now...

I can't stand milk. I used to drink it all the time as a kid, then for some reason just stopped. I haven't drank it plain in years. I have no problem adding it to my coffee however. I also love cheese and ice cream. I don't really have any problems with milk (health issues, etc) I just don't like the way it tastes anymore.

I love milk - 1% or skim since I was a kid - but have to drink Lactaid now or take a lactase pill to keep the GI happy. I love dairy, but I've been much more comfortable since mostly giving it up. In fact, I don't miss it much, though I still REALLY enjoy ice cream, cheese and milk chocolates when I do have them.

I tried to switch exclusively to Soy milk, but got tired of it and finally stopped completely after the interwebs told me how bad it was. Almond and coconut milk were good, but expensive. Now, I'm a Lactaid man with some Almond/coconut milk thrown in. I think the choco Silk tastes much more cocoay than choco milk-milk, so I have that every so often, too.

I enjoy milk, but in moderation like everything else. It tastes good, it doesn't affect my digestion, and it's a great carrier medium for Kahlua, dark rum and other high performance additives.

The downside is that it has a high sugar content and can have high fat as well.

Milk only with cold cereal, I'll never let any dairy or sugar product touch my coffee now.

We only drink skim milk, after a while can't tolerate whole or 2% anymore.

Milk is highly acidic and mucous forming. The stories we are told about needing it for calcium are simply myths, pushed by a multi-billion $ dairy industry....
....once again folks, its time for us to ask questions, and wake up.

over the long term, drinking milk and consuming dairy products is a key factor in ill-health.

AH! Bunk!

I LIVE off LOTS of milk products , am 50 and super healthy!!

I often repeat the meal again for dinner. Nothing better than a full breakfast, I'll take mine over easy.

Well isnt this the land of confusion and presumption....
Pop Rivit...."suspecting" and "guessing" are the mother of all f**k-ups....

I grew up on a dairy farm in the north east of england......and never really did like milk. i used to watch my father milk those cows when i got home from school at night....i watched the cats drink it, but im not a cat,or a pig, hopefully, neither are you.

as for reading stuff on the internet, and making myself a 10 minute "internet expert"....no, not me....

When i got to the stage, 3 years ago where i had so little energy that i could hardly work, was so depressed that i barely wanted my life anymore, i decided to educate myself about truth.

after seeing my father exposed to nothing that comes close to truth in a hospital where they "attempted" to care for his cancers....i knew that going to a conventional doctor to get conventional nutritional "advice" would do very little for me.

I now eat no meat, no dairy, no wheat, no alcohol and no sugar, sugar being my greatest challenge.

I dropped 35 pounds and 4 inches from my waist with zero exercise, gained more energy than i have ever had and have a very different perspective on life.

I read a book called "The pH Miracle" by Dr. Robert Young.

thru the sickness that ultimately, we do to ourselves, we subject ourselves to a very low form of life compared to what many now believe is capable for all of us...we see someone that is 90 years old and say WOW.....go look at the few remaining indigenous cultures they live way longer and throughout are fully functional members of their society....they dont need to be put in some nursing home to slowly die....they live.

like i said, these are time where critical thinking is very much required.

nothing, nothing on this planet can ever taste as good as true health feels....I'll stick with the occasional vegan pizza thanks, its another way to reduce the perpetual power trip we humans have when we take charge over, dominate, abuse and manipulate animals for our own betterment.

having worked in mass chicken houses, collected battery farmed eggs and seen how animals are treated at auctions....i will not buy into that anymore....the first move lies with us, to wake up, to really see that we ARE nature too, live with compassion.

my way of life isnt for everyone, but the movement is growing, people are waking up and starting to see that its about more than calories, fats and carbs...there is an innate spiritual connection between us and these animals....go find out where your meats come from, educate yourself....go ask the producers if you can observe their operations....i doubt they would but if you could, would you watch it from start to end??

not all farms are run with abusive actions, the one i grew up wasnt, we had the best dairy herd for miles and miles

i suppose, as always, it just comes down to perceptions, choices and decisions.

Nobody has beaten death, only cheated it. On a long enough time line, the end result for EVERY human is death. I am not going to live an ultra healthy lifestyle to simply contract some form of cancer from the air we breath and die a miserable death and miss out on a lifetime of food. Or, live an ultra healthy lifestyle to die in a car wreck from some idiot texting.

I eat what I want and in the portions that I want. I applaud those with the discipline to follow a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. I accept that they have the right/freedom to chose their lifestyle just the same as me.

For the record, skim milk, 1/2 to 3/4 gallon a day. Yes, I have semi-high cholesterol (VERY hereditary). I take a pill for it (how American of me, right?). No tobacco and no alcohol for me (never liked either one).

I start off every single morning with a big glass of milk, although I also add two big spoonfuls of Nestle Quik to it!

equally, there's races of people that have not been drinking milk for hundreds of thousands of years, quite successfully.

It's the attitude in many that dairy is a necessary food group is what drives me barmy.

Even cows get more than enough calcium etc. without it.

Seriously, are you healthy because of your milk consumption, or despite it?

I'm not militant about my food intake, but watchful. I love yogurt and cheese, milk not so much. I rarely drink it plain. It just tastes like grass with subtle undertones of cow pie, really.

Mass-produced milk, like other mass-produced food stuff, is quite vile. Pus content is disgusting. I do love my hot cocoa, though!

Doing great and not changing my habits.

1% milk has less of a wormy smell & taste than Skim.

Ever try Land-O-Lakes Hot Cocoa mix in the packet?

There are cultures that eat monkey brains while the monkey is still alive, I think milk haters exaggerate a bit

Human stomach is a huge garbage sack, we can eat whatever can be found, heck even poison will go down, and we are being slowly poisoned by the food industry. Whatever you eat, unless it was grown by you, will have so many chemicals, growth hormones, pesticides and antibiotics that food type choice becomes fairly irrelevant as long as moderation is used.
