I could use the opioids, but the rest of the stuff in milk no longer agrees with me. I drink a little milk mixed 50/50 with soy milk and I'm OK, I eat lots of yogurt and cheese, but if I chug a 12 oz glass of even the best organic, un-homo, non whatever - I'll be pooping like a goose and sour and rank and grumpy.....

Being a Kiwi kid I was brought up on milk - free milk in schools, and it was subsidised as well,so very cheap. We put out 4 quart bottles a night, and my brother and I would chug one each.Milk on everything. When very young milk was ladled into a billy at the gate...and later it must of cost a penny, because we sat a penny on the bottle as it wouldn't fit inside.

I haven't drunk straight milk in years, not even in my coffee. I have yoghurt and cheese, but not milk.

My son and I used to go through at least 10 litres of milk a week between the two of us. Buy it in bags up here...

Probably TMI, but it made me quite gassy. I've been drinking more soy milk as of late, and it seems to be easier on my digestion and those around me. Some people claim that too much soy milk can be bad for you, but I haven't seen any untoward effects.

I am a HUGE milk drinker. Always have been. Nothing better than a tall cold glass of milk. I have over the years however, due to health and weight issues, gradually moved from whole to 2% to 1% to now drinking skim. I can't stand to drink whole milk now. It is like drinking a cream and butter milk shake to me now.

I love drinking milk, and only drink skim milk. To me, skim milk is like a refreshing glass of water. Even the 2% milk that the rest of my family drink feels and tastes "heavy" to me, and just not as "crisp" as cold skim milk.

A huge bowl of cereal with skim milk may be my favorite comfort food.

LOVE Milk.

REALLY LOVE Ice Cream!!!

don't see the point in drinking skim; it looks gray to me and tastes like dishwater. I can do 2% but much prefer whole (which is like what, 8%?)
milk and cookies is a great snack, couple of oreos and a cool glass of cow juice, not much better than that.
my wife doesn't let me drink soy milk anymore, gives me stinky gas.

We are the only species on the planet that drinks the milk of another species.

we are the only species on the planet that drinks milk beyond infancy.

the only milk we should ever drink is that of our own mother, while we are infants.

Milk is highly acidic and mucous forming. The stories we are told about needing it for calcium are simply myths, pushed by a multi-billion $ dairy industry....
....once again folks, its time for us to ask questions, and wake up.

over the long term, drinking milk and consuming dairy products is a key factor in ill-health.

I quit drinking milk after talking to a nutritionist about it. Strocruiser is right, milk is really not very good for you.

Check out notmilk.com if you want your eyes opened.

Non-milk guy here as well. We stopped using dairy products and in the first 3 weeks my cholesterol dropped nearly 40 points. My doctor was actually a little befuddled but congratulatory. Drinking it grosses me out now. Cheese was the hardest to cut out.

I don't really drink milk. I have no aversion to it. I'll drink coffee with 1% or half and half in it. But I just really don't drink milk.

But I do like other dairy products.

I don't care what the Veganazis say, yogurt and cheese are awesome. I think they are such angry people because they don't have an ice cream every once in awhile.

Just sitting in the shade having an ice cream with your kid(s)...it's hard to be mad. Easy to be happy.

I remember my ex ordering a vegan pizza. It was the crust, the sauce, and all the veggies they had - no cheese. It mad me sad. It was a sad non-pizza.

And her "nachos" made with baked chips, black beans, and that gritty soy cheese. I called them "Non-chos" They were not nachos. They were just wrong. The salsa was good at least.

THIS is the post I was waiting for! talk about milk and SOMEONE will bring up the 'we are the only species' thing.
whatever.
we are also the only mammals that copulate while facing each other. should we give that up too?
we are the only species that wears clothes, do you have a problem with that?

people have been drinking milk, making yogurt and cheese for THOUSANDS of years, so don't give me that dairy industry myth conspiracy reasoning. sure, I KNOW they promote their product; of COURSE they do, it's how they make money. duh.

Love good cheese, but on the milk I agree, No grown up should drink cow milk daily.

And like others have stated, My body will tell me in not so pleasant ways that milk is not for me........

Cheese, No problems.

Well, as long as you can get the calcium and vitamin D from some other source I guess you don't really need milk.

That being said, I drink a ton. My family of four probably goes through 6~8 gallons a week. I see kids drinking soda and gatorade all the time. Then I don't feel so bad about my kids drinking chocolate milk.

I would point out, to those who don't drink it... we don't need it... calcium is a myth.... visit a retirement home and it will be obvious half the women there are disfigured with osteoporosis. And [for me] these are in Wisconsin! Maybe at least a yogurt a day isn't a bad idea. Or enjoy your last decade in a wheelchair.

Agreed. I suspect stro_cruiser has never spent any time on a farm, where cats will impatiently wait for a chance at fresh milk from a cow as she's being milked. And pigs love having milk that's almost at its expiration date added to their food.

And I suspect stro_cruiser doesn't realize that many animals, if they had a source, would drink milk. They simply don't have the means to obtain it.

My guess is that stro_cruiser simply reads something on the Internet and repeats it rather than having any real life experience.

yes, I can't stand 'fake' food, like soy burgers or tofu turkey, or even turkey hot dogs,(those things are nasty!)
a friend of ours will not eat any pig-derived products, but she will eat turkey bacon, some of the most vile, over processed junk I've ever seen!

yogurt, chocolate milk, ice cream, sour cream, cottage cheese, cheesecake, pirogies, mozzarella cheese, blue cheese dressing, cheddar cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, pancakes, pralines; they all are wonderful and all use milk
