01Taurus 3.0 Vulcan valvetrain @ 238k miles.

Apart from varnish , what's everyone's opinion of the engine at this milage ? Engine was torn down due to a bad head gasket. Not sure of it's past maintenance history. So far it doesn't consume hardly any oil.

Fortunately the coolant went out the exhaust. And it's getting new gaskets tomorrow. I'm somewhat glad this happened because it alerted me to other issues I was unaware of.

My grandpa had one of these in a Taurus and a Ranger. All 150HP did nicely at upsetting tailgaters.

This one will somehow get out of it's own way. Or well it would before the head gasket let go.
