Anyone here like the big cats? I adopted a lion and a bengal tiger at a sanctuary here in Texas and provide funding for their care and feeding.

I am currently in Africa on business and have seen many lions in their natural habitat. It would be hard to imagine a planet without either of those cats. Do what you can when you can.

I've seen lions, cheetahs, and leopards in their natural habitat in Africa. Beautiful animals. We even did a walk with lions and cheetahs once.

Last year on a safari, we had lions sleeping less than half a mile from our camp. You could hear them roaring at night, too. Here is one of them:

About $300 a month for both. I am likely not the only donor and a fair amount of the food comes from local grocery stores as donations. Big cats eat bones and all, but because they are in captivity they also need vitamin and mineral supplements. If I could hug them both I would, but alas...
