From my readings the Mercedes-Benz 229.X, CH4 seem to be favored here.

I have also seen a Global DHD spec on Delvac 1300.

Thanks-

I don't tend use the word "aggressive" when referring to an oil spec. But I assume you mean lots of adds and a strong base oil.

Not sure why, but Amsoil comes to mind.

So does Pennzoil LL.

Pablo, I believe he is asking about specific standards such as CI-4, DHD-1, ACEA E5, etc..

Anyone can make oils to meet a specific standard but the question is which is the best standard to meet? I am certain that this question would depend solely upon the specific application that the vehicle is going to be used in.

It really isn't necessary to use a additive package that was designed for a engine that burns ultra-high sulfur off-road diesel at the rate of 3 mpg's when you're driving a 50 MPG diesel that uses 50 PPM on-road sulfur fuel.

MB 228.5 oil spec... Nearly parallels the very stringent 229.5 LD gas/diesel spec, without the MPG and sludge constraints.
