You’re not as unique as you think:My question here isn't your standard one. I'm interested in keeping a quart of oil in my car full-time for emergencies. I'm simply trying to find the most durable quart container that has no chance of breaking open and ruining my trunk space. Do you find any brands more durable than others? Thanks!
actually BITOG is on it....Project Farm is on it. Let's find out.

I don’t recall any Mobil 1 container leak in transit or storage …
(Decades of use) … I have a stash of several brands now - nothing has leaked …
Only recall a Valvoline gear oil bottle leak at the cap …
As others suggested - find something to put the bottle in …
SMHApparently BITOG has run out of things to discuss, and now we've morphed the "thickest oil" debate into the search for the "thickest oil container" ...
SMH ...
I keep a spare quart of inexpensive ST in the void under the spare tire. Done it for years. Never once worried about the viability of the container.
I think a ziplock bag will need more protection in the trunk than that quart bottle. Contact with almost anything in a vibration rich environment will hole it.Why not just buy a new quart of oil a year, and rotate the old one to the crankcase?
Put it in a gallon ziploc as a backup to ease any undue stress you may be experiencing.
Crisis averted.
