What's your "one stop shop" oil?

I normally don't post threads like this, but I'm kind of interested in feedback from those of you who have found a "one oil for everything". Mine is Mobil 1 ESP 0w30. I've run it in two different trucks, it's in my Troy Bilt pressure washer, and it'll be going into my generators next time they get serviced. I'm very pleased with it and I would've liked if I'd taken the plunge sooner.

ESP 0W-30 for me also in both cars. Whatever x-30 open bottles laying around for the power equipment because I just recently moved to the ESP.

You made a great choice in my opinion. I don't use it right now, but that is just me.

I've looked at several of your oil filter threads, the cut open filters. Looking for a go to filter. Looks like premium guards are of the most consistent quality.

I've been trying to figure out for a year what my favorite is. I have several contenders.

My favorite used to be Maxlife Full Syn. Now it's either Valvoline Restore and Protect or Valvoline Extended Protection High Mileage Full Synthetic, though I also like Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic and Havoline Lifelong, especially if pinching dollars.

Due to inflation, penny pinching is obsolete. Now I try to pinch dollars. 🤏💵

The havoline has the benefit of being a six quart container vs a five quart, assuming you buy it at Walmart

I'm just trying to get through all the oil I have lying around before I buy more. I will have to buy some more Valvoline Restore and Protect within a year/year and a half to start to use in my Legacy. I want to finish with my Mobil 1 Extended Performance stash which I think is 2 more jugs with one being used next weekend. Then, I think I have 1 VPR jug for that car and will need another 3. After that, don't know what I will use.

I have 2 more VPR jugs for the CRV which is on its second change. I also have maybe 4-5 Kirkland to get through after that. And I have maybe 3-4 Pennzoil Platinum for the Impreza and 2 Castrol EDGE (The edge could be used for a different car too; don't know yet). Maybe I'll order some AMSOIL Signature Series for both Subarus and maybe do a few changes of HPL. At least I have time to figure it out.

I am interested in HPL for my B5 S4 but I gotta get though 4 boxes of Mobil 1 0W-40 before that and they way I don't drive the car, it will take me years and years...

Agreed. I also like the premium filters made by Premium Guard (PG) filters. Of all the premium filters made by PG, I think NAPA Gold is the best because it's made to NAPA's standards/specs by PG.

===
Note: I bolded premium because it's the premium line made by PG that I like. The cheaper, lowend line made by PG isn't as good. That applies whether were taking about NAPA, Oreilly, or any other brand made by PG.

In a filter dissection video of NAPA Gold (NG) and Oreilly Microgard Select (OMS) (both are premium filters made by PG) you can see that NG has 10% more filtration material and pleats.

OMS and all other premium filters made by PG (including NG) are excellent filters, but the NG has 10% more capacity.

NG costs $1.50 more than OMS. The minor cost difference is not relevant to me.

Here's the filter dissection video that compares NG to OMS.

Valvoline Restore and Protect would be the best choice for brand new to old engines since Valvoline says the Valvoline Restore and Protect is their best gasoline engine oil they make and sell. But it is not oil for penny-dollar pinchers. My next choice would probably be the Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic. I don't know if Quaker State is using the GTL base stock like Pennzoil Platinum, Quaker State and Pennzoil are both Shell Global oils, but I don't know if the Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic is using the GTL base stock. If the Quaker State you are refering to is using the GTL as other Shell Global oils are, that would be my second choice of the oils you listed here.

True, but all my cars have 4 to 4.5 qts capacity. So 6 qts container is an inconvenience for me. For people with larger engines that have 5.5 or 6 qts, then a 6 qts containter is perfect for them.
