Wanting one oil for tundra and BMW. Help please

Good day,
I would like to have one oil for both vehicles. Thinking Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 will work from what I have researched. Vehicle’s are a 2021 Tundra with the 5.7 V8 and. BMW X4 with twin turbo that calls for 0w20 LL-17FE. Your thoughts please.

ESP would be my choice in your situation too. Always available right on the shelf at Walmart, which to me makes the difference. Why order something more expensive and difficult to obtain when there's an excellent product right there?

ESP, either 20 or 30, looks like great oil, but neither carry the BMW spec the OP needs.

That’s the one thing that bugs me. I don’t get the BMW spec with the ESP 0-30w. Maybe better to go with ESP 0w20 for the BMW. it doesn’t have the LL-17FE spec but seems more in-line with a LL-17FE. I have gone down so many rabbit holes researching my head hurts.

What year is the BMW and what engine? (I wouldn't be overly concerned with the Tundra, they can run on most anything)
So tailor your choice leaning towards the BMW.

For most late model BMWs, you can use LL-01 and LL-04 as an approved alternative. They are readily available in 5w30 and 0w30 and those approvals would be preferable if allowed for your engine.

Please note there is an exception for North America...but it is surmised it is either due to fuel mileage concerns or possibly outdated concerns about sulphur in NA fuels...which is no longer an issue.

Also, wait for suggestions from edyvw and kschachn. They will have good advice.

Use whatever is necessary for the BMW. The Tundra will survive with the same; it's not nearly as finicky.

If you can live with an oil with the LL-04 spec, you can get Pennzoil Euro L 5w30 from Walmart.com. It's what I run in my 2016 535d.

Go to local Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts. Castrol Edge 0W30, $37 for 5qt with filter.
I use it in both Sequoia and my BMW. And they have new version which is LL01.

ESP 0W30? This particular ESP has Esters, and LL04 does not allow it. Oxidation is a bit higher than what BMW allows.
Personally, doing 5-7.5k intervals is fine.
However, if the warranty is still on, it might be an issue if something goes wrong.

LL17 is far more stringent. ACEA is starting point for European manufacturers. They develop approvals using the corresponding ACEA as a starting point.
Again, your manual says somewhere LL01. Use LL01 if you want oil with higher HTHS. I am using Castrol EDGE 0W30 (what I wrote earlier). And that 5.7 is as smooth as it can be. Big difference to whatever 0W20 Honda dealer used where I got vehicle.
