What’s everyone’s favorite bbq sauce and why?

Heinz ketchup on steak
The only way to roll
Of course I haven't had steak for years...
Jim.... that is a horrible combination ketchup on a steak 🥩. A1 goes on a steak with some good seasoning. Ketchup that is for fries 🍟. At least it’s not traditional here in the south to have ketchup on a steak but maybe up where you are it is lol.

What do you put on a cheese steak?
Ketchup

Sweet Baby Ray’s or Kraft. Or the local bbq places homemade sauce that comes warm oh man it’s delicious. Why? Well it’s just so good and yummy 🤤. Especially that warm bbq sauce from the bbq place here man let me tell you that’s some good sauce it has just enough tang to make your nose hurt if you eat it by itself.
Everytime we go to this BBQ house I always bring home a bottle of their signature sauce. (y)

Absolutely no contest for me. But everyone has their own taste.

All the people talking about different bases. Wonder what just regular bbq sauce base is? Hopefully not mustard or vinegar because I hate both of those lol. I didn’t know there were so many different ones.

I like the BBQ sauces sold by Sticky Fingers Restaurant in Wilmington, NC. I first found them there in 2002, but now they're even sold by Walmart. There are at least five flavors so there's one for almost everybody: Carolina Classic, Carolina Sweet, Memphis Original, Sweet Kentucky Bourbon and Sweet Southern Heat.

The base is important, to each its own. In North Carolina they have a “religious” debate about it. It has gone all the way up to the State Senate. Them Tar Heels take the base seriously, kind of like us with motor oil.

NC BBQ

I don't put bbq sauce on steak, and very rarely A1 (up here we have HP sauce). Chicken and ribs yes for bbq sauce. Truthfully one of my favorite things for bbq sauce is to dip pizza and the crust into it.

Kinder’s. Locally made, and it goes oh so well with CA-style BBQ(tri-tip).

I’ve been impressed by Stubb’s and Sweet Baby Ray’s.

As far as homemade bbq sauce goes, I prefer plum-based recipes. I go easy on bbq sauce. Just a little with every other bite or so as a palate cleanser.
