Many guys here have been riding since they were kids. Hope the learning curve doesn't create problems.....

first bike ridden in 1950 - my brother's BSA Bantam - I was 10!
First bike owned (in 1956) was a 1950 Norton ES2 500 single
Got my MC licence ("L" plates) on 21st February 1956 (car licence at 15 in August 1955) with a full MC Licence a year later. The MC "L" test was a few figure 8s (no feet allowed to touch the ground) and road testing in both town and country

Triumph Terrier 150cc; a smaller Tiger Cub.
It didn't charge on high beam (a whopping 30 watts). It had a Lucas RM12 alternator (a whopping 60 watts).
After enormous trial and error I found it had the wrong wiring system, via the dreaded PRS8 switch. I rewired it and it charged perfectly, according to the ammeter I'd installed by then.
I don't blame Lucas; I blame Triumph.

1965 Suzuki T-10 250
1980 Kawasaki KZ 1000 ltd. It was a tinker bike and I don't know how to tinker. Sunk way too much money into that bike.

A 1978 Hodaka Road Toad 100cc. It was a dog really. Top speed on street was 60 with a tail wind.

'70 Honda CB-350. Bought it in Lexington, NC in the spring of 1970 while I was home on leave after boot camp. Rode it back to NAS Jacksonville, FL with all of 10 minutes instruction from the dealer. My only previous MC experience was a 15 minute test flight on an M-50 Harley. How I made it the 350 odd miles back to the base I will never know but that was the beginning of a 40 year love affair with motorcycles.
