What grade of HPL oil are you using?

I'm just using up my stash of HPL EC30, adding it in 1/5 ratio with a low priced dexos 1 gen 3 high mileage full synthetic 5W-30 for 5,000 mile oil changes using a Fram Ultra 20,000 mile oil filter, in the hopes the filter won't fill up during the 5,000 run with HPL EC-30.

The hope is that the significant orange/brownish varnish my mechanic showed me on the 2006 Odyssey EX-L during a valve cover gasket replacement will be cleaned by the HPL EC-30 over the next year.

Mostly the 5w40 Passenger Car Engine Oil. But also the 5w30, 5w20 and 0w20, 0w30 premium passenger car engine oil. Sleeping well at night with the 5w40 HTHS 4.3cP

HPL is the latest bitog thing. This too shall pass.
Doubtful.

One doesn’t have to worry about HPL changing formulas and significantly changing the performance of a known product. If there’s a change, it’s only to make things better, not necessarily cheaper. Those who know don’t see this as a fad.

Well said! Members of this forum who are truly interested in motor oil can see that HPL is the real deal and isn’t just a fad that will go away.

2012 F150 3.5 ecoboost, 161k mi. Bought used with filthy, near death engine maintenance at 100k mi.

Summer: HPL PCMO 5W40. Lotta towing and highway.
Winter: HPL Prem Plus 0W40. Some towing, more cold, short tripping.

Could go Supercar (or Prem Plus) 0/5W40 year round, but seeking the highest practical HTHS, landed on the above.

Be fun to try Supercar for winters at least, but by specs looks a coin toss (vs prem plus) especially at 5k oci, no clear net gain for higher cost.

Currently

HPL HD5W40CK on Toyota 2011 Yaris
HPL PC5W30 on Subaru 2022 WRX - going to move it to HPL PC5W40SC once my inventory of 5W-30 oil dries up.

On family and friends vehicles I usually dump a quart of HPL EC30 with their choice of 5 quarts motor oil they get locally.
