What are you eating right now?

Focaccia: a friend and I started this yesterday and the dough spent the night in the fridge before baking this morning. The dough isn't kneaded but rather uses the long resting time to accomplish what kneading does.

I was always taught breakfast is most important meal of day 🤔
Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.

It is true that the first meal should supply us with the majority of our daily macros. The first meal does however not have to be breakfast. What, how much, and very importantly when we eat must be examined in the context of the relevant lifestyle and the involved metabolic processes. It's the metabolic processes that drive our body to burn either fat or glucose for energy, and we can affect them.

Someone who gets up at the crack of dawn and heads out into the field for backbreaking work all day long has different requirements regarding nutrition than someone who gets up a 08:00 and sits in an office all day.

Food intake requirements and physical activity/energy expenditure are intrinsically linked. The higher your energy requirements the more and the more often you need to eat. Most people overestimate how much they need to eat. That's especially the case with the abundance of carb-rich foods. Due to our evolutionary history, the human body wants to pack on pounds for the meager times. As soon as we eat carbs our metabolism is set up to make us lust for more carbs which it will, if consumed in excess, promptly convert into body fat. And why is it so hard to lose body fat? Because our body does not want to give up its emergency ration. So the metabolism goes into fat-saving mode and will rather burn muscles than fat. And that can happen to people with a functioning metabolism but for those with a metabolic disorder, this becomes a real problem. And the same fat-saving metabolic process can hinder an ultra-low-carb diet. The remedy for that is carbcyling which prevents the body from holding on to every ounce of body fat. Carbcycling may not be an option for people with metabolic disorders.

Did I ever say I like this guy sometimes I don't show it.

Had a Larabar for a snack. Pedaled 11 miles, was a good stopping point before turning around (23 miles total).

Will correct any health improvement with a bacon cheeseburger in a bit… followed by smores at the firepit.

Wife is on some plan that says never eating breakfast is the key to weight loss. Goes against everything we have been
Many docs say breakfast was just a modern day creation.
Most say eating as late as possible or waiting until noon is the secret to success...
