Valvoline Restore & Protect 0W-20 Honda CR-V

Belated update! I put in the second interval of VRP in the CR-V late last week, although i decided to bump up the viscosity from 0W-20 to 5W-30. Mobil 1 M1-110A filter. Awaiting my Oil Analyzers kit and oil filter cutter and hope to update again soon. First VRP interval (OW-20) burned 1.5 quarts in around 5200k miles. The VRP did *slightly* clean the baffle but only on the parts where the varnish has been scraped off with my oil funnel. Dipstick is slightly cleaner now, however.
Thanks for the update and for sharing your experience!

I've owned a 2011 Acura TSX from new. Got a notice from Acura warning about low tension piston rings and a warranty extension with a recommendation to switch to Top Tier fuel. I was using Mobil 1 0w20 and following the maintenance minder and found I was down about a quart 6k miles after my last oil change in 2016 at 70k miles. I changed to a 5k OCI and used Techron for a while and since then only Top Tier fuel. Oil burning increased to about 1qt every 4k miles until about 2022 @ 104k miles and then 1qt every 3k by April 2024 @ 124k miles. Extended warranty is long gone, but they wouldn't have done anything until I was burning 1 quart every 1k miles. That's when I switched to Valvoline Restore & Protect. It's now July 2025 @ 132k miles and I've used about one quart in the last 5k miles. Third oil change with Restore and Protect is due in a few thousand miles. Things seem to be going in the right direction.
