I have a 2002 F350 crew cab 4wd v10 and the following options:
-Electronic 4 speed auto transmission
- Camper package
- Off- Road package
- 4.30 ratio limited slip axle
- 9900# GVWR Package
I am a resident of Alaska, currently living in UTAH and in the military. I am likely moving east of the Mississippi and am looking at a used gooseneck enclosed trailer (20ft). My truck has the gooseneck hitch. I think I will exceed the 9900 GVWR which I think is set at 9900 to meet registration requirements, not actual tow limits.
I have no issue registering the truck for a higher GVWR- I have a class A CDL. I am struggling to understand what the actual GVWR is for the truck. When I go through a tow guide, this is what I find:
Crew Cab 4WD 6.8V10 10,300d
Crew Cab 4WD 6.8V10 12,500j/13,600j
I believe the "d" = 3.73.1 axle ratio
I believe the j = 4.30 1 axle ratio
Any thoughts on actual GVWR would be appreciated. Also I updated the rimms to the 2004 F350 Harley 18" rimms- will that reduce towing weight capacity?
