Hey you want to believe this stuff go ahead. He does not question the danger of smoking but the dangers of second hand smoke which still remains unproven whether you like it or not.

I'm not one of the "mindless minions" but maybe Limbaugh is on to something ? lets see..when all that hot air from the liberals sweeps across the nation it creates a vacuum, that would explain why the vortex comes sweeping down through mostly the liberal states....haha

What's funny is, polar vorticies are a natural phenomena at both poles that are always present; it's when the move or get pushed away from their usual position (further south in the northern hemisphere) that causes extreme cold outbreaks. Has nothing to do with any pseudoscience claim like global warming or global cooling/whatever. The Earth is always in a state of flux.

I lost a lot of respect for Bastaardi. I used to follow him when I was traveling to upstate NY frequently. He sold out.

He's also not a climatologist. You'd be surprised how many people that have a really cold winter think that means there is no global warming. LOL. The world revolves around them.

What I do find interesting is the recent sun activity and space weather. I'm not sure how all of those variables factor into their models. What I do know is 97% of climatologists believe there is man made warming. It is up to the opposition to prove them wrong, not the other way around.

He and Joe Deleo probably have the best collection of analog weather data for which to produce forecasts NOT using weather models exclusively, and they have to be right because they're not funded by the government! Of any meteorologist or climatologist who's in the public spotlight, he and his firm have by far been the most accurate at what's actually happening, and people pay him for his accuracy. It's not like the publicly funded science of AGW where if their claims end up being wrong, which they have been, they don't lose their jobs. If Weatherbell and other private firms get it wrong, they're toast.

Sorry, but NO forecaster is very accurate, although it can vary a bit.

Mother Nature doesn't care whether you are a "private" business or not.

As for the private forecast businesses being "successful" it mainly hinges on how good their marketing is and how effective they are at attracting advertisers to help support them.

The maps show it hitting squarely on the midwest states.

We won't know for 20 years if this is at all related to GW. Right now it's just weather due to a particular phenomenon.

We get similar effects from Antarctica down here.
