I've been going to Bonneville and helping out on various LSR efforts, for years. I haven't been to the Texas Mile venue.
I've lost a few friends and acquaintances at such events over the years. RIP Dave, Bill, Sam.
If you're a gearhead, you should enjoy it.
Here's a video of Bill running at the Texas Mile. He set a record on this run. He later ran faster at Loring, running 311.945 mph in 1.5 miles. He crashed and died on a later run trying to exceed 300 mph in 1 mile. The closest he got was 296 mph in 1 mile.
