Passenger on my aircraft flight was snoring for an hour

If one can take a picture of the engine likely implies flying up front. One can get slightly more comfortable in first and fall asleep. Tougher to fall asleep in coach with the higher density of passengers.

Yes, I always fly first class since it’s for business.

5 flights this week for work and I always get the early bird flight.

I will buy noise cancelling headphones for my next business trip.

The popular option lately, seems to be to make a scene in the cabin: Start yelling, pick a fight, act deranged, etc.

You'll make it onto various social media platforms. The flight will be shorter as the Pilot lands at the nearest airport. You'll get to meet some Police Officers as they board the plane to escort you off, then to jail. But you won't have to listen to another passenger snoring, which might make it all worth it...

There are lots of very expensive earbuds. Most or all of them have been described here. I bought a pair of earbuds for my Android phone that cost $35 on Amazon. They work great. In fact I'm amazed at how great they work. Amazing sound quality.

But perhaps my favorite thing is to put them in with no music or sound of any type being made. I firstly can't hear much of anything. Secondly I'm totally justified in ignoring anyone who tries to talk to me. When I put in the earbuds, I'm telling the world to piss off and leave me alone. We all need more of that in my opinion.

Dave, I have the noise canceling Bose. Love the headphones but they will not block snoring or chatty Cathy passengers.

At least they weren't coughing, sneezing, or trying to talk to you.
Two weeks ago I was at the gym and the guy on the next Stairmaster was coughing approximately every 30 or 40 seconds and had no mask on. About a week later I get on Stairmaster without paying attention and the same guy is` doing the same thing. This time I moved to the furthest Stairmaster away from him. I'm contemplating what to do the next time this happens but I doubt I'll continue to ignore it.

The same solution recommended by a few people to deal with the snoring guy would probably also work for your situation.

Get a good pair of noise cancelling headphones. Problem solved. Any more questions?

PS... are you really suggesting that someone who is coughing should wear a mask? I'm no expert on things, but I'm pretty sure masks don't work so good for someone who's coughing (and/or trying to do aerobic exercises).

Was he covering his mouth when coughing ?

I once YELLED at my brother…. and a coworker when they were coughing and didn’t cover their mouth.

In both instances I caught a cold soon after.

🤬 😤 😠😡😤

I think the issue here is not the annoyance factor but that this guy is potentially infecting everybody in the room. If you're sick, say away from the gym.

Or like a herd of morbidly obese elephants (they had to be wheeled by wheelchairs) that boarded with all manner of airport stinky food and also ate what they served on the flight. Dude sitting across the aisle from me smelled like Old Spice and onions. They ain’t no headphones or earbuds can cure that. All the way to London…

No he wasn't wearing a mask. I'm not suggesting he should wear a mask....I'm suggesting he should go to a doctor and stay at home until he stops coughing in an indoor confined public space. I assume you know that C19 is still around.

There used to be a lady in the morning train who would sound like she's hacking up a lung; and I mean like straight up smokers cough while preparing the world's largest loogie. It was absolutely disgusting, but realistically nothing I can tell the person that they're disgusting and for me to move train cars. I haven't heard her on the train since the lockdown.

They sound like the type of person who doesn't wipe down their equipment after use too.

I have some audio technica NC ear buds - they come with extra cups and my left ear fits the larger cup better …
If you do a cheap hearing test they use muffs - go to a proper audiologist and it’s in ear …

My brother in law sounds like this.
He has COPD and needs to get some exercise, or die.
It isn't contagious.

Are the the over the ear type or the in ear “bud” type?
I have the Apple AirPod Pro 2 as I’m an Apple sheeple and when I put them in I can’t hear anything. I don’t fly as much as some of you but I have used them on a flight, I couldn’t hear anything at all, no babies crying, snoring, even the captain speaking over the PA.

Over the air type. The Bose are wonderful- but do not block out crying babies, snoring, and chatty Cathy's. And by far, chatty Cathy's are the most painful on a flight.....
