Toyota's are some of the rustiest trucks made since the late 80's I have ever seen. I work on a lot of trucks so I've seen my fair share to put up an opinion that might matter. Oh yeah and I live in south florida..... you know its bad when you see Toyotas rotting in florida.....
I've seen tacoma's with pieces of metal welded to the frame to keep them together, thought it was the wierdiest thing ever and provided me a good laugh....... then I saw another one just like it and thought.... man this truck is a POS
yeah some of the engines last awhile, but what good is that when the body/frame of the truck falls apart?
Toyota has dropped the ball big time on its trucks. They don't make as much power, they get less fuel economy, and they cost an arm and a leg......
a VERY stubborn guy at our work is a Toyota brainwash nutcase, he constantly talks about how he doesn't have to fix his toyota, but I see it differently.... he has expensive rotors, pads, tires, and an expensive timing belt job he has done. He has spent a lot of money on the truck. The truck looks like poop, underneath is rusted, the body is all dinged up, the paint is HORRIBLE on it.. no longer shines.. how can someone love something so much and let it get to that condition?
besides all of that.... I tell him my 900 dollar car smokes his truck anyday of the week, and even though I did fix a few things on it.... I got about 50 years of maintenance/fixing stuff to get up to his original 37k dollar purchasing price.... plus interest.... His toyota will be long gone and rusted up after he spends a few more thousand on maintenance by that time.....
He's a funny little guy, thinks his truck is so fast. Welp when I started working their he knew his truck would beat my car.. and I quote, "I beat those kinds of cars all the time...."
Now me being a SHO nutcase, I know of [censored] near every SHO in palm beach county, and I can almost count them on one hand... this is the largest county east of the mississippi.... so how could he be racing SHO's all the time? Especially when none of the ones I know about live anywhere near where he drives...I called his bluff......
we lined them up in front of the shop, I gave him the intial launch, when I saw him get out in front of me I took off.... I had a terrible launch where I spun the tires and had some nice suspension hop going on(SHO's suck for launches)..... by the time I shifted into 3rd I had a buslength or two on him....
