Quaker State 5W40 $17.50 at Walmart

No discounts near me...

With the fleet in your sig you almost have to. 😅

🥴 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: With what I sell and the wholesale prices I pay, Any oil I use on my fleet is FREEEEEEEEE and one of my TOP oil buyers owns a quick lube and they change my oil for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ;)

For last few years I was using that MEGA SCORE Delo 400XLE 10W30 that was $3 per gallon jug @ AZ. I still have a few cases of it but for last year one of my local VIP auto shop owners has been buying it from me @ $20 a gallon, he LOVES it in his 08 Silverado 5.3 ;)

Some real leakers and burners in that list.

Actually the only one that leaks is my 82 trans am!!! My main weekly drivers are my 01 suburban and 09 P71 and neither leak??🤷‍♂️ But I don't recall ever having to top off any of my Fords??? My 02,03,04 E-series cargos and both 04 vic's have been "works in progress" since I purchased them so don't know on those yet 🥴:ROFLMAO::p

I wasn't going to judge you on a 5.3 rear main seal. It's kinda a design feature.

Just that it's not the oil specified in the manual. Not the oil the engineers recommend.

Walmart only has the 5W-40 in the Quaker State Euro.
What is the car? There are 5w-30 Euro oils available on Walmart.com with free shipping to your door for only a few dollars more. The HTHS will be very close to the 5w-40s

First gen Tundra and second gen Nissan Rogue. I think both engines are easy on oil. I describe the cars and driving habits here.

I'm intrigued by the Euro approvals which seem much more stringent and geared towards engine protection and not fuel economy.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a second gen Tundra with the 4.7 V8 and have 378,000 miles. Never been rebuilt. Owned it since 20k miles and only use whatever synthetic is on sale... Mobil synthetic, Kirkland Signature, Pennzoil, whatever...5w-30 changed it every 6k to 7k miles. Mostly use Toyota filters I buy them 6 or 10 at a time. I don't even bother with high mileage oil, though might consider it if on sale at Costco when I run low on what I have now. Still runs and drives great and sees 110 miles put on it every day.

If you are short tripping, just change it a bit more often...perhaps at 3k miles.

That's a legendary engine. I have the V6 but it's also a good engine. I bought it with high mileage with basically annual oil changes with bulk dino oil. If I'd had it since new, I wouldn't worry about it much, but I want to clean it up and keep it running for another 150k+.

But manuals don’t actually specify grades they recommend them. Going up in grade isn’t going to hurt anything. Just don’t go down.

Using thicker oil than specified might rob some HP and mileage depending on your driving habits, but you'll most likely not notice either.

Lord knows I can certainly tell the difference between the advertised 325hp and the 321hp I might get it I go up a grade. It sends shivers up me timbers and keeps me up at night.

Amen for probably not noticing! A lot of our fellow forum dwellers might not disclose that part.
