Great looking car and congrats on the purchase! I look forward to hearing some reports on it once you get some miles on it.
How do you like the CUE? Apparently Cadillac rolled out some significant software updates to it recently to make it more responsive and fixed a bunch of bugs. The initial version of CUE was slammed by most mags.

So far, so good. I really don't have a lot of time in front of it, I paired my phone up and that was simple and intuitive. I am still programming in radio stations, and I need to explore Pandora and some of the more advanced features. I also need a good road trip so I can plug a destination into the GPS.
Interestingly - if you don't get CUE (it is optional on the base model) you don't get a CD player. The CD player is located in the glove box and looks like a CD-ROM drive from an old desktop. I can't tell you the last time I played a CD in the car and I have a feeling they are going to start disappearing out of cars in the next couple years.

Haha... yeah, I think I'd rather get more storage space in the glove box than a CD player. Very nice! I think that GM really has a winner in the ATS, and BMW/Merc need to watch out. This isn't the same GM that built my cavalier and the Cadillac Deville. Keep us updated on it!

It's amazing how much power is being squeezed out of the latest engines. Here is a comparison of a few with the same displacement -
1991 Chrysler 2.5 NA - 100HP @ 4800, 135 ft/lb @ 2800 (love that low torque number - made this engine a great daily driver)
2013 Lexus IS250 V6 - 204HP @ 6400, 185 ft/lb @ 4800
2013 ATS 2.5 - 202HP @ 6300, 190 ft/lb @ 4800
And I'll bet it about knocks the 'nads off the other 2.5L engine in your signature. And I say that as a Mopar guy... but I really do bet the Caddy I4 2.5 is vastly superior in almost every way to the Mitsubishi v6 2.5 of 15 years ago.

If it had, Cadillac's history between 1985 and 2005 might have been very, very different. Sure, it couldn't have had all the modern refinement back in those days, but it could have been so much better than the tramped-up over-priced Cavalier that it was.

My SRT-8 has UConnect, which I gather is similar to CUE. Not bad at all- it practically configured itself to work with my iPhone over bluetooth- including streaming music from either the iPhone/iTunes library or Pandora, whichever is active on the phone. My only complaint is that there are infrequent, brief audio glitches or dropouts over bluetooth when playing music- haven't noticed it at all with hands-free telephone conversations. Plugging in directly to the USB port (conveniently hidden in the center console) eliminates that glitching, but prevents me from putting the phone in the power outlet charging cradle I have.
The CD/DVD player in mine will never get used either- the nav LCD screen has to swing up to even reveal it.
CUE sounds very similar and more capable if its internet connected to get Pandora natively (mine comes thru my cellpone). Of course I don't get the full capabilities because I declined a Sirius subscription. I was a bit prepared for the whole entertainment system to be a bust after hearing about some earlier incarnations and especially the earlier Ford/Microsoft system (the name of which is on the tip of my tongue but eludes me). But I have to say they seem to have it pretty much right these days.

Thunder Gray looks even better, IMO, alas, Cadillac has removed it from the available color options due to issues with the pigment supplier. Hopefully they'll come up with an equally great looking replacement at some point.

OK, now you're in territory that annoys me, too. I've had rental cars like that (climate control as soft-buttons) and I H-A-T-E-D it! You had to change the context of the display from "entertainment" mode to "climate" mode and then make your adjustment, so I was forever flicking back and forth. Very distracting, even after I got used to it a day or so into the rental. What's wrong with knobs? I mean REALLY?
