PG4612 oil filter $9.99 / 12 pack - Walmart

This fits my CX-30 Turbo theoretically, but the fact the 2.5T engine uses a different OE part number than the NA 2.5 gives me pause.
Most likely your local quickie lube throws the 4612 on everything Honda, Subaru and Nissan.

I understand that's a low bar but if all those cars aren't dead on the road side, it's likely fine....

I’m talking about Mazda. There’s some controversy whether the turbo engine can safely use standard 6607-type filters.

for the mazda's that don't have an adbv in the OE filter would these having an adbv cause any harm?
I don’t see how it could, but I’ve read others who disagree for reasons I don’t understand. For what it’s worth I’ve run standard filters on the naturally aspirated Skyactiv 2.5 with no apparent issues, confirmed (as much as can be) with UOA.
