Took a shot and placed an order.
Most likely your local quickie lube throws the 4612 on everything Honda, Subaru and Nissan. This fits my CX-30 Turbo theoretically, but the fact the 2.5T engine uses a different OE part number than the NA 2.5 gives me pause.
I’m talking about Mazda. There’s some controversy whether the turbo engine can safely use standard 6607-type filters. Most likely your local quickie lube throws the 4612 on everything Honda, Subaru and Nissan.
I understand that's a low bar but if all those cars aren't dead on the road side, it's likely fine....
for the mazda's that don't have an adbv in the OE filter would these having an adbv cause any harm?I’m talking about Mazda. There’s some controversy whether the turbo engine can safely use standard 6607-type filters.
I don’t see how it could, but I’ve read others who disagree for reasons I don’t understand. For what it’s worth I’ve run standard filters on the naturally aspirated Skyactiv 2.5 with no apparent issues, confirmed (as much as can be) with UOA.for the mazda's that don't have an adbv in the OE filter would these having an adbv cause any harm?
I have one on our Mazda CX-5 but it’s the non-turbo. If under warranty, for the turbo, probably stick with OEM. PG’s website does say it fits though.I’m talking about Mazda. There’s some controversy whether the turbo engine can safely use standard 6607-type filters.
No. Oil pump will have no issues with that. Tons of Mazdas out there going to quick lube places getting jobber filters installed w/ anti-drain back valves.for the mazda's that don't have an adbv in the OE filter would these having an adbv cause any harm?
It’s $10! You know you want them! I TRIPLE dog dare you!Excellent deal but I must resist! I have too many filters already.
I tried to resist, but I caved. Now I must decide between a new Passport and a Ridgeline so I can do these shorter intervals. PS: I don't want no 4 cylinder turbo. It’s $10! You know you want them! I TRIPLE dog dare you!![]()
Q: "Why'd you choose this for a new car?"I tried to resist, but I caved. Now I must decide between a new Passport and a Ridgeline so I can do these shorter intervals. PS: I don't want no 4 cylinder turbo.
