Looks like Laura has claimed at least one life.
Live feed of driving through Lake Charles, LA after Laura.
Glad to see you are ok.WOO HOO!
Now that was a real deal hurricane!
It was raining sideways, trees were bending over, chairs and other patio furniture were flying!
A dang tornado touched ground in the soybean fields about a 1/2 mile away. That sucker was loud!
The storm fizzled out at about 7 AM CST. I was just getting in my bed and the lights went out. All of the wind gusts up to 70 mph and the lights go out with 15 mph winds. They just came back on about an hour ago.
I have no cable or Internet so l don't know how bad everywhere else is.
I was riding it out like LT. Dan was in Forrest Gump.![]()
Yes they will. One thing you can bet on is that (most of) Louisiana in general and Lake Charles in particular has some of the strongest, most resilient people on the planet. Lake Charles and SW LA will come back stronger than ever.
