That pour point is surprising, would tend to indicate a lot less PAO in the oil. I also love how they shamelessly butcher the SAE grade.
that's blasphemy speech right there. nothing can look better uglyLooks very Valvolinesque.
I think it looks more ConocoPhillips / Kendall / MotorcraftLooks very Valvolinesque.
Kinda irrelevant as this thread was started nearly 3 years ago. If you want consistent performance, the only place you’ll find that is the oil blender who doesn’t chase the cheapest component price in order to maximize profits. I’ll let you read some and come to your own conclusions since some members blindly claim fanboyism even when I remind most folks they may think they want “the best oil” when in reality “the best shelf oil at WM” may exceed the actual requirements of their application.Have they changed the additive package in their 0w-40 too?
That's not the answer to my question. Do you know if Redline has changed the additive package in their 0w-40 as well?Kinda irrelevant as this thread was started nearly 3 years ago. We’ve got some great site sponsors here… give them a shout with your wish list, let them advise you, and come to your own conclusion on the price/performance/availability value proposition of each offering.
Redline is the only place who could tell you if the formula has changed. Nearly every “spec” sheet will use the disclaimer “typical specs” rather than “absolute” so they can always have an out in case some part of their typical blend is not available, or costs too much, etc. It’s why you can’t build a fluid from an SDS or spec sheet. That's not the answer to my question. Looks like the good old Redline to me.

You can't say that for sure about any oil out there. That's why we have spec sheets to get an idea. If it wasn't for spec sheets this thread wouldn't exist. Their 0w-20 and 30 have changed for sure, the question is what about their 40.Redline is the only place who could tell you if the formula has changed. Unless you got confirmation in writing from P66 Legal Dept that the item you’re looking at hasn’t changed, bet on the likelihood that it has.
It has not changed. I asked redline a month or so ago and they said the formula has not changed
ThanksIt has not changed. I asked redline a month or so ago and they said the formula has not changed
Can you share what Redline said, specifically? Because I asked, and they said they cannot provide any specifics about formulation changes. It has not changed. I asked redline a month or so ago and they said the formula has not changed
Saying that it has not changed is good enough. The bottle still says extra zddp, the new 20 and 30 don't say that. As far as the base oil is concerned, the pour points suggest it is still the good old stuffCan you share what Redline said, specifically? Because I asked, and they said they cannot provide any specifics about formulation changes.
Sure! I asked a if formulation changed or potentially suppliers for the same product change as well as just the SSI of the VI improver used. (We know HPL used a 3-5 SSI so I wanted to compare, but figured i for sure would not get an answer)Can you share what Redline said, specifically?
