Nice.
Every oil conditions the seals to some extent. High Mileage oils just increase the amount to levels allowed by the oil's certifications/approvals.I noticed the PZ wont help the engine seals
The Walmart near me had on the shelf last week. I normally use Edge 0W-40 in my car and considered the 5W-40 as they were out of 0W-40 but it wasn't on sale....I’ll definitely be on the lookout for these at my local Walmart. Hopefully they'll stock it soon. Thanks for the post OP.![]()
API SN rated xxW-40 is allowed to be high SAPS. If it were SP, you might have cause for concern about smoke and mirrors. In order to meet BMW LL01, a high SAPS is called for. LL01 is hard to find in oil specced in US, but that is contra to LL04 which calls for low/mid SAPS. A little smoke and mirrors here? With ceramic cats, high saps is deadly. Are they degrading oil performance to save the cats? I certainly wouldn't use this stuff in my (LL01) BMW.
Hard to say, but Mobil Super Synthetic is discontinued. The replacement, Mobil Full Synthetic, is technically better on paper because it has the Dexos approval.Pennzoil Full Synthetic...Is that their version of Exxon/Mobil's 'Super Synthetic'?

“Formulated to meet”, no actual approvals.
Still great oil

Mobil Super Synthetic is not discontinued and is available in 0w20, 5w20, and 5w30: https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants.../our-products/motor-oils/synthetic-motor-oilsHard to say, but Mobil Super Synthetic is discontinued. That’s fine. There was some confirmation from Mobil posted on here awhile back that Mobil SS was being dropped in favor of Mobil FS.Mobil Super Synthetic is not discontinued and is available in 0w20, 5w20, and 5w30: https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants.../our-products/motor-oils/synthetic-motor-oils
I suspect that you can't get A40 without a winter rating of 0wHey buddy it does have the MB 229.5 approval.
The Porsche A40 is in question i believe.

The data sheet won't do much good from Pennzoil (Shell) they are often unreliable and inaccurate.Would love to see a datasheet or a VOA on that Pennzoil 5w-30 product.
Do you have evidence of this, or should have you used the word occasionally instead of often? The data sheet won't do much good from Pennzoil (Shell) they are often unreliable and inaccurate.
I know that fantastic miracle stuff in a bottle ptfe slick 50 stuff sucked me in when I was a dumb 16 yr old like a big black hole...For most of us, very true. But you’d be surprised (well, maybe not!) at the things I hear people say in the oil aisle while shopping, they see that kinda stuff and it’s like a dog drawn to a fresh bone!
You and me both.I know that fantastic miracle stuff in a bottle ptfe slick 50 stuff sucked me in when I was a dumb 16 yr old like a big black hole...
