My Walmart has dropped the Endurance for a new 20k Purolator

Anybody need an Endurance - I got you covered!

Only need my costs offset along with the mere $50 each shipping and handling fee.

There have been many discussions here about even $1 jobber filters and running them.

Your comment is not based on any discussions here. But if people pay for premium they do want premium.
You’re kidding, right? If I had more time, or even cared..I’d link at least 100 threads ripping on anything purolator. As soon as I saw this thread posted, I knew it was going to go one of two ways and page 1 didn’t disappoint, or every page after. Take my “jobber filter” reference out of the post.

I would rather run a $1 jobber filter that didn't tear than a Purolator. The poor reputation of that brand is well earned and lots of C&P to prove it.

I’ve got royalty purple Hps and a purolator boss in and on a car right now. I’ll let you know when it blows. Not running your oil till it looks like it needs to be returned to the ground or keeping a filter on till it welds itself to the engine makes a difference.

Those won't tear media since the media is backed. The Boss might add a bit more wear if you don't do short OCIs. 😀

The one near me was stocking new Endurance today.
Same here, no evidence of any change. Based on comments, seems 'at this point', roll out very limited. 'Perhaps' just limited test market areas for now. Otoh, the ~$13 oil bypass rippled leaky seal area FE Endurance spin on still well stocked locally.

Some details on my Walmart. It’s a super center with an auto service center(oil changes and tires). This Walmart is a very high volume seller of oil and filters. Oil and filter selection is fantastic. It would make a good market test. I guess time will tell but to me the writing is on the wall. Walmart will not sell two exclusive(Walmart only) oil filters imo.

Yes the way some people blindly support that brand is quite remarkable.
If one has had solid results with "that brand" and posted all c&p as evidence does that qualify as "blindly"? Asking for a friend.

It's similar to the guys that state their preference for Asian OEM only in Toyota/Honda, e.g. Toyota Denso, even though fairly common knowledge, very inefficient. Is that blind support?

More like filter attachment syndrome. Whatever filter is attached to my vehicle is the best. Then get upset if c&p’s show otherwise no matter the brand.
I have the opposite syndrome. I have a large stash of oil (bought from that Tractor supply sale a while back).
I always use the oldest oil first. If I see an old date (with a 2023 year) on the 5 quart jug in my stash, it bothers me.

But once I put that old oil into one of my engines, that 5 quart jug with the old date disappears from my stash,
and I feel better about my stash.

If the price was right I'd use them. Meijer routinely has pure ones and boss filters for 30% off, so i stocked up for a few years. I also have a few dozen parts plus (standard) filters for cold weather and family cars, as well as a few ultras. I recently discovered that ultras aren't the darling of this site that they used to be. Go figure!

Neither are Boss filters. Why use one with such a low published efficiency?

I wasn't aware of low efficiency to be honest. They were priced right and seemed well built. I'd never run one, or any filter the 20k they state. My oci is more in the 5-7k range
