I opened my last bottle of SLOB(Street Leagel Oil Boost) that I bought from BigLots a couple of years ago and it was all chunky. Yes the foil seal was intact. I shook it up, opened the cap, peeled away the foil seal and started to pour. It was like...glug, glug, glug! Had kind of an oat meal texture to it. Of course I stopped pouring as it was only going into the lawn mower and instead of only topping of the oil in the mower, I changed the oil due to the obvious.

Anybody seen this happen???

VOA of that...

I'd have microwaved it and seen what it looked like then. I bet a bit of heat would have put that all back into solution.

Don't tell my wife I do this sort of thing in her dream kitchen!

No- but I stll have several sealed bottles, plus one opened a couple of years ago that's about half full. May have waited too long! I'll ck the open one first.

You sure about that? maybe google will change your mind. To the OP if you do put oil in the microwave be careful.

I would think it would be safer to either run some hot water over the bottle of SLOB or partially submerge the SLOB in a small container of hot water. JMO

I only paid .50c or $1 for the bottle as they were all on sale at BigLots at different times and different prices. This bottle might go into the trash after I dispose of the oil properly, we'll see!...Why risk it!

uh oh -- I still have a few bottles left as well. I'll have to check mine, and use them soon. It's only $1-$1.99 (luckily).

SLOB usually don't go bad i know i still have 52 bottles on hand from a BL close out @ $.25 cents that was 2 years ago!

what you need to do is soak it in a pan of hot/warm water for a few mins and shake it up good no problems will be just fine i just used a bottle the other day came out fine like a thin oil,the only thing i noticed is if not shaken good you'll see some settlement on the bottom.

here's a VOA on SLOB VERY good stuff....

Parameter: VOA Data (Manufacturer's data)

Zinc: 4898 ppm (4700)
Phosphorus: 4921 ppm (4300)
Calcium: 4279 ppm (7800)
Moly: 0 ppm (0)
Vis @100C: 29.5 cSt (28)

The lab report also showed 13 ppm magnesium, 11 ppm silicon, 5 ppm sodium, and 3 ppm iron.

Yeah, switching to cars with an OLM with long change intervals was not the best thing for my SLOB/ARX/oil stash... I may have to start bathing in the stuff.
