More Evidence That Doesn't Support 10K Oil Changes

If you cannot trust the dealership to use the correct oil to support the 10,000 mile oil changes they recommend, then the only answer is to change it at 5,000 miles.

Or else risk what happened to the vehicle in the video...... Or else change it yourself. And then we're back to the miniscule percentage of people who do.

Factor everything in, along with the risk, and it's just not worth it. Too much risk, for a cheap reward.

Look, if you want to call this “evidence” then you need actual evidence.

With no record of oil changes, no record of what kind of oil was used, you have no evidence of anything. It’s hearsay. It’s guessing.

This is all based on a supposition, that the oil was changed as directed, but there is not one shred of proof of that claim.

So the resultant conclusion is just house of cards - built on a claim with no actual evidence that the oil was changed and the correct oil was used.

I think I tried to say that. You did a MUCH better job.

Also:

I mean for general re-naming purposes this thread should be called Oil is NOT Oil.

And I am not saying these people are lying I am simply saying they don't know as much as they think they do.

Are we doing this again?

I did not last very long in the topic video... seems like a basic hit piece.

As for the Car care Nut were on that one for at least the 5th or 6th time... Toyota does mot have the best track record with pistons rings anyhow...

Basically 99.9% of people driving out there,...

...I'll bet it's far less than 1%.

Point is for 99.9% of the cars you see on the road today, ...

But for the other 99.99% of the driving world, ...
Those are categorical percentages. I trust you can share a YouTube video to back up those statements. In the meantime, I'll extend the current OCI to 13-14K miles.

Ok, we get you enjoy YouTube and blindly and heretically believe everything you watch. Thanks for sharing.

The internals of this engine are really sludged up. And they have documentation that 10K oil service was done. Make of it what you will.

Please don't reference Youtube videos done by someone who may or may not what they are talking about and giving us facts that they see. Are we getting the whole story? Toyota spec's 10,000 mile oil changes and their vehicles run for almost forever.

No, I'm just not that good at calling someone a liar because I disagree with their conclusions.
Yes, you blindly and heretically believe everything you watch.

Point 1: The same shop was taken to the cleaners by a BMW owner who claimed his differential was destroyed by his service, when it was already destroyed when he took it into get serviced.

Skip the McDonald's meal and the chocolate shake and change your oil. Sugar is not good for you anyways! So I was told.

It's a win win situation. Talk about synergy. Clean oil and less sugar in your body ... You'll sleep better! No?
