Has anyone run this oil in there trucks? I ran Rotela Truck in Caravan, however stash is gone. Will be running 5w30 in 2020 Frontier and some of the reviews claim it will shear to 5w20 but have no prove. Never ran Mobil 1 however I ran regular Mobil years ago.

I work at a parts store and while most Mobil 1 oils are very popular, hot sellers, the Truck & SUV moves very slowly. It's not very popular at all. This doesn't mean it's bad in any way, I'm sure it's fine stuff, but most people either get regular Mobil 1 or the Extended Performance line which sells super fast.

Yeah ask those reviewers to show you proof of this shearing. That's a word thrown around so much when there is very little actual evidence it happens. What is most often seen is a viscosity deviation that is most likely fuel dilution.

Besides that it is highly dependent on the engine design. For most people the Shear Monster is just a myth.

I've thought about using it next OCI. I looked around for it this past weekend and it was not available.

I am currently using 5w30 & 0w20 Mobil Truck & SUV. Purchased Advanced Auto clearance price. Have large stock pile accumulated by checking online stock while traveling.

I'm a big Mobil 1 user and IDK I just can't wrap my head around what I'd need a Truck/SUV oil for when I have traditional Mobil 1, Mobil 1 EP, or the Mobil 1 Euro offerings. I also like Pennz Ultra and would seek that oil before Truck/SUV. If I'm off base here educate me and I'll bow in reverence.

I’m sure it’s the same muppets that’ll argue Pennzoil will sludge your engine up. Truck and SUV will be fine in your rigs.

I have been running this 5w30 in my 2.7 silverado for about the last 3 oil changes with about one quart used per 2.5k miles of make up oil

I had grabbed this stuff up when it went on sale

It didn't change the oil consumption +/- enough to make a noticeable difference over the regular mobil 1 or the two runs of Castrol

As long as I can find it at WM or AZ I will continue to run it otherwise it's back to M1 5w30

According to LSJR in the HPL lab the Truck and SUV was among the most shear stable M1 oils he tested. I’d use with confidence.
Besides shear stability - what other attributes does this M1 Truck & SUV oil have with regards to cleaning ability , wear , deposit reduction , etc. ?

I’m using it in my 09 Altima that I gave to my daughter for work. She drives 130 miles a day round rip to the hospital where she works. For tens of thousands of miles, this car never used a drop changed every 5k. She’s somehow found a way. I installed truck and suv a few months back but haven’t been able to catch her to check it. My hopes were the oil would stand up to her cinder block foot. I’ll let you know. I figured she has to have 5-7k on it by now. I set the maintenance light to go off @7500, but she wouldn’t even notice it.

It's oil man, what do you want it to do?
To know / understand truck & suv oil make up in order to make a more informed buying decision … Otherwise , we should all just buy Super Tech 5W30 and have no further oil discussions .

Based on the video and lab tests, I recommended TSUV to my sister for her late model Corolla. I had originally recommended a different M1, but felt that TSUV was better suited to her situation. I had originally suggested M1 EP 0W-20.

Uhhmm … M1 0W20 EP vs M1 0W20 TSUV ?

I like when these specialty oils pop up every few years, only to sit on shelves until the parts stores clearance the remaining stock to make room for better sellers!

Pennzoil had their Start/Stop, Hybrid, etc. that was the same as their Platinum synthetic, for all intents and purposes. After they realized the marketing campaign was a dud, I bought a bunch of 6-packs from Advance Auto for about $2/qt. M1 now offers the topic TSUV that doesn't sell very well, and I recently cleared the shelves at a few Advance stores for $7.xx/jug and $2.35/qt.

Maybe they can rebrand the TSUV as minivan oil, which will appeal to moms who actually get their oil changed...
