So a low SAPS version of the FS 0W40/VW511. Have'nt seen this dicussed here. HTHS = 3.8. New to me.

Very few 511s available but seems like a great option to 504 to me if you want something a bit thicker. I'd run it in a heartbeat. Good oil for your track VW.

The most obvious:

VW 504 00: 0w30 or 5w30
VW 511 00: 0W-40 or 5W-40

Porsche's equivalent approvals do express it nicely: Porsche C30 and C40.

Sadly the 2019 edition Afton specification handbook doesn't include VW 511 00. Would be interesting to see a current revision as I'm quite sure there are more differences between VW 504 00 and 511 00. Most probably these differences aren't huge though.

From what I know both are same minimum HTHS of 3.5 mPas. Granted, in reality a 5W-40 VW 511 00 will likely come with a higher HTHS (e.g. 3.8 mPas) than the typical/average VW 504 00 (3.5/3.6 mPas, only one single VW 504 00 has 3.7 mPas as far as I know).
