45 years today in fact. Lots of ups and downs but we're still hanging in there. Wouldn't trade her for 2- 30 YOs.
Best thing we did was get married in 1980, now all I have to remember is add 20 to the year and I know how long we've been married. The date is tougher, wish it was 10/22 like the Ruger![]()
It's a fundamental thing. Men fix problems. Sometimes, the problem is more than the problem. The biggest challenge of my marriage is not money, it is to listen and not be a fixer.
I am a fixer by nature, and want to fix whatever the issue is before the sentence is even fully out of my wife's mouth. What I continue to fail to grasp is my wife just wants me to listen, the fix is a distant second to fully listening.

Well...My father is law is a great guy. He's very nice and kind, but he can't fix stuff.I must assume , since we sound similar.... you must have been told by now the same kind of thing I get told once in a while....
"YOU are NOT my daddy!"
My wife and I married in 1965 while I was still in the Navy. 60 years last June.View attachment 306848
Congratulations!
Next year will be our 10th year married. We were 21 and 19 when we got married, and despite the entire deck being stacked against us (we had our 1st son a year prior, Ive been stuck on night shift and for 11 years working 12's on nights, etc) we only grow closer and closer every year. We are each other's best friends.
Funny you stress this point. What I continue to fail to grasp is my wife just wants me to listen, the fix is a distant second to fully listening.
Let's not get carried away here...Wouldn't trade her for 2- 30 YOs.
