I'm guessing Mobil is formulating a top tier oil with Euro and certain diesel specifications but with a ~3.0 HTHS and not a 3.5 or greater HTHS like the original 30 weight ESP oils. Essentially what has been the North American standard for 30 weight PCMOs
It makes sense since people not driving on the autobahn or doing road course laps virtually never need an HTHS that high.

With API FA-4 and related manufacturer approvals they've been doing this in class 8 vehicles for the last few years, and it makes sense, if they protect well enough that the engine doesn't blow up and they can gain a few percent in fuel economy it makes a big difference in a vehicle that gets 5-6mpg going 150k miles a year or so.
