Interesting at 9.7cst its above 9.3 required for a 30- by just a bit.

" JLR STJLR.03.5007 specification for the JLR 2.0 L Ingenium 4 cylinder diesel engines."

also probably marketed at guys weary of running 20 in high load applications like trucks.

I'm guessing Mobil is formulating a top tier oil with Euro and certain diesel specifications but with a ~3.0 HTHS and not a 3.5 or greater HTHS like the original 30 weight ESP oils. Essentially what has been the North American standard for 30 weight PCMOs

It makes sense since people not driving on the autobahn or doing road course laps virtually never need an HTHS that high.

With API FA-4 and related manufacturer approvals they've been doing this in class 8 vehicles for the last few years, and it makes sense, if they protect well enough that the engine doesn't blow up and they can gain a few percent in fuel economy it makes a big difference in a vehicle that gets 5-6mpg going 150k miles a year or so.

it’s a top of the line C2 oil. the european fetish for 3.5 hths in regular commuter oil has come and gone.

this is one of two oils approved for MB 229.61, the other being lukoil genesis 0w30. putin’s motorcade needs maximum fuel economy and esp
