Guys, my leather jacket is looking under nourished and in need of TLC. If possible I would like to make it water resistant at the same time. What do you recommend to treat and old friend with to preserve its life; we have been riding together for over thirty years and I'd like to prolong the relationship.

I've had good results with Leather Amore:

Depending on what kind of leather you have, you might need a different product.

to 'rejuvenate' and light duty water resistance try something like Kiwi Conditioning Oil (footwear care section in walmart); after a week of leather coming back to life switch to a mink oil product or Atsko Sno Seal

if really aged & faded you might need neets foot oil to heavily condition & soften the leather...use sparingly because heavy or repeated use can 'open' the leather too much & weaken the fibers;

for several years I 'touch up' my favorite insulated leather guantlets with cheap ole Turtle Wax Leather Luxe spray sold in the auto care section; it contains emollients that clean & condition leather; some folks use saddle soap but I've heard it can leave residue that clog pores in the leather & can turn hazy after rain

I haven't used Motul Perfect Leather - but I have used a few other cleaning / care products from the Motul Perfect line. They are top notch, so I would guess that all in one leather product is the same quality as the rest of the line.

Clean with the mildest soap you can find. Let air dry. I use Obenauf's leather oil.
