Hard to tell Jim. This OCI was made up of many, many, short trips, lots of idling, a fuel injector cleaning via the rail, and Kreen added to the gas. I was trying to once again eliminate a stumble and hot restart surge I've had for many years. I've come to the determination that the hot restart issue is is not the injectors, a vacuum leak, a sensor, computer, etc., and is something I have to live with. Re-confirmed by 4 mechanics now! Then I had some clutch issues, and thought I needed a clutch. Good thing I spoke with my brother regarding that, we checked out the floor around the clucth master cylinder and just like the other standard tranny E series Fords I owned the floor was flexing when stepping on the clutch. We made up a plate, beefed up the floor, and eliminated that problem w/o changing the clutch. I also think the stumble is gone as a result, something no one would have guessed!!!!!!!! The hot restart surge is here to stay! Long story short a UOA this time around would be a complete waste of $$$.
As a side note Bio Tech Engine Protectant did help build oil pressure faster through my pre-luber this winter, so I would say it helps with cold starts in extremely cold climates. Sorry no science to back that up though, only the time it takes the pre-luber to build oil pressure in a stone cold engine is reduced with BTEP.
