K&N plus foam wrap...

I recently purchased a 1998 Dodge truck from a friend who had installed one of the round "top of the throttle-body" K&N air filter assemblies on the vehicle.

I have noticed on some of the posts here at BITOG that the K&N filters can cause increases in Silicon levels in UOA's. I was wondering if these results could be improved by the use of a foam overwrap filter over the K&N.

Anyone running this type of a system now? UOA's results? Advise?

The over wraps improve things sufficently that I think they are on par with a paper filter.
