I think how long you soak it matters more than the brand of penetrating solvent you apply. Overnight will achieve better results then 15 minutes with some sort of, "super penetrate".
It will be 15 years in another week and he hasn't been back since so I doubt we'll ever hear what happened.I think after 14 years he's either gotten it loose or given up by now
Good One. Why don't they just delete some of these old posts. Reminds me of the old UOA's that are archived.I think after 14 years he's either gotten it loose or given up by now

But you could have waited another 15 years before posting again. But I guess it's not to be.an old long + interesting post IMO! often older informative info gets "dumped" for various reasons BUT a lot of older info is NEW to others looking to learn!!
50 50 mix of acetone and ATF.......but not Penetro. I need something for removing rusted automotive exhaust parts but i pretty much need it by tomorrow. Sick of these mail order companies and the closest "rep" to me for Penetro is about 100 miles away. Anyhow, what is the best one that is sold in most local stores. Liquid wrench? I know WD-40 isnt a pen oil at all. Any out there better than Liquid Wrench?
Kroil and Kimball Midwest Torque CB Corrosion Blasting Penetrating Oil. Great cans to keep around.50 50 mix of acetone and ATF
You like coating parts with soot? That’s a pretty rich mix.I like a 1 to 1 ratio of acetylene to oxygen, myself.
I'm sure you're right about the mix. I only know what a neutral flame looks like. My brazing looks like chicken poop. You like coating parts with soot? That’s a pretty rich mix.

I'm going to agree with the acetone-atf mix. I use it and it works great. What I found most helpful in the below comparison was that Liquid Wrench obtains like results as Kroil, at 20 percent of the cost, and much more readily available.
