HTHS 5w30 Mobil 1 vs Mobil Super Synthetic

Just got this from ExxonMobil via email, figured I’d pass it on:

Mobil 1 5W-30: 3.1 mPa.s

Mobil Super Synthetic 5W-30: 3.24 mPa.s

This was of interest to me because I use ACDelco Dexos 5w30 full syn (relabeled Mobil Super Synthetic) in my truck. I noticed it made my 4.8 with VVT quieter than Mobil 1 5w30. I’ve been using it for ages, just wanted to make sure it was up to snuff.

I noticed the Delco syn seems to work well with the GM turbos as well.

Not a huge fan of the M1 0 weighted oils ( work well but makes engine loud)

Looking at Mobil regular syn or the SOPUS twin oils for the 0w20 weight for my Equinox

Could the base oil mix make the engine sound different?
