Im running 5k OCIs on my 97 Mustang GT 4.6. 155,000 miles and no issues at all. I know these engines are pretty easy on oil. Im running PP 5w30 right now and it's at 5k now. I have my next OC of QSUD 5w30 sitting on my work bench ready. Couldn't pass up the rebates. So without doing a UOA how far would you guys run it? Oh and 95% of my driving is freeway 65mph 17miles one way to work.

5K is my routine

Go with what keeps you in YOUR comfort zone. Thats what keeps some people doing 3k oil changes. 5k is my limit no matter what oil I use. Kepp doing what your doing that pony will last another 155k.

Well I changed the oil out today. Along with a new air cleaner and PCV. I will stick with the OCI I have been using. Thanks for all the replies.

95% highway (assuming no stop & go) on an engine with no mechanical issues should be fine for 7,500 miles, especially since you're using a high quality synthetic. A UOA would be a good idea before pushing it further.

7,500 miles has been the official spec for normal service for quite some time in a lot of cars, and this generally assumes dino oil. Your driving situation definitely sounds like normal (not severe) service.
