A night shift coworker advised me that our vehicle was slow to start. I decided to let the engine idle for a while because this thing doesn't really get driven that much. I decided to pop the hood and check the battery for corrosion. My eyes about popped out when I saw the born on/put into service sticker! February 2015! Wow!

My truck was built in late 2015. It has the original battery. I had a suburban with an 18yo original battery (1982 truck with fillable cells). Batteries last a long time when they aren't subject to high temperatures. The deep cycle batteries in my trailer are from 2012. They get removed and stored inside during the winter. Are you surprised because it's a mopar battery or just in general?

Down here in Alabama 3 to 5 years is the max......usually. I guess it all depends where you live. Surprised the battery is that old.
