high price on 1993 Cobra R

If you have to ask how much it is, you probably can't afford it.

I know someone that bought a house under construction he was passing by because his girlfriend wanted it. He called his lawyer, gave the phone number and address and said I want the house. His lawyer asked the price, he said I don't know, I didn't ask or see it listed, just get me the house. OK then. The area has many multi-million dollar homes.

Looks like a Cobra. Says only 107 were produced that year and still has the factory plastic rapped around the seats. The 371 miles were probably test runs or transport meaning it’s essentially new. It’s stripped down to save weight at the track. Kinda like the Camaro Copo.

I’m not sure on the price but usually cars like this are whatever the market will bear.

It appears another 1993 SVT sold for $204K on Bring a Trailer with 12 miles on the odometer.

371 miles is low, but the engine isn't broken in yet and I wonder if the car was abused to see how it performed.

It is advertised (so I'll presume it's real) as a "Cobra R"; the track model. Fairly rare and very low miles.
It's not an absurd price given the current market.

90's vehicles are appreciating like it or not. They only made 107 SVT Cobra R models in 1993. I told a dealership manager back in 2016 that Mark IV supras will cross 100k in a few years. Low mileage ones are almost 200k now.

This is the dealer that I bought my Defender from. This car is not actually for sale but part of the owner's collection... And this is just one of the impressive cars in that showroom.

All the way to the left of frame is a Mystichrome Cobra Convertible. He also has a Ford GT.

I suspect the cars are "for sale" so they can be on the floorplan insurance.

This does seem like a bunch of money for what amounts to a stripper Fox-body Mustang with a bit more power than a standard 5 liter and revised spring and shock rates that runs fourteens.
Even if you could arm wrestler the seller down to a hundred and a half, you'd still end up with a car of questionable collectibility that you couldn't drive since a lot of its value is in its nugatory mileage.
Still, the asking is within current market values for one of these, so there are at least a few folks willing to go six figures on one of these cars.
Were I to pony up that kind of money for a car, it sure wouldn't be one of these, but that's just down to personal taste.

Hendrick has a 918 in his Charlotte Porsche showroom that he drove to the drag strip, did a few quarters, and then drove back to the showroom.

Doesn't seem unreasonable at all, given the rarity. This isn't a stock '93 fox that happens to have low mileage, it's a Cobra R, and one of only 107 produced, as the link notes.
