Ford dealer diagnostic charge to see if AC is covered under Ford premium extended warranty

Dealer just called, stated the compressor is defective and needs replacement. I am more thinking the symptoms might align with @Chris142 informal thought of a blown fire that controls the ac system.

My bad...I forgot to add.......
UNLESS you can do all the repair work yourself (and the parts are available)
Did you know it's easier to get parts for a Ford Model A than it is for a 2025 Sierra or any 2025 diesel pickup ?
Quite a silly comparison, don't you think? How many total parts to a Model A, compared to 2025 Sierra, or any modern car for that matter?

Are they covering it under warranty? If yes, are they now waiving the diagnostic fee?

Then it's YOUR FAULT. It's been pointing out over and over and over again on here how dealers are not your friend. It's incumbent on you to do the homework on YOUR VEHCLE AND WHAT'S COVERED. Between various vehicle forums and the manufacturers website there is absolutely no shortage of resources.
Respectfully I am also a strong proponent of people being proactive and well informed but that is not an excuse for blatant dishonesty. That being said this type of thing would really be beyond the pale.

Sometimes it's incompetency. You need to be smarter than the other guy.
