Florida license plate frame law

So I believe this is the full text of the actual law.

My question - what is "any feature or detail". Seems like over-reach to me. If you can read the numbers, and the decal you should be GTG. So now they can pull you over for a license plate bracket that obscures nothing - legally. Your papers please comrade. https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statute...ute&URL=0300-0399/0320/Sections/0320.061.html

A person may not apply or attach a substance, reflective matter, illuminated device, spray, coating, covering, or other material onto or around any license plate which interferes with the legibility, angular visibility, or detectability of any feature or detail on the license plate or interferes with the ability to record any feature or detail on the license plate. A person who knowingly violates this section commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Today when I read this thread I was paying attention on FL plates as we have a lot if them here bcs. military.
None had a frame. Interesting. I think this law is the reason.

Florida is gorgeous this time of year... My friends are visiting Hollywood, I believe. Just watch out for those licence plate frames...

Apparently it's all for AI surveillance to be able to read the plates. You can add a clear film with random spots, that look like dirt and that will confuse the AI detection. And there are probably plenty of other ways to stop these AI cameras from tracking you. Seems like something the government would not want their law abiding citizens to do.

Those Flock cameras are used by the police to help solve crimes, so that's one good thing about them. For those of us who have been a victim of a crime, this is good news. I don't really care for them being used to spot if your inspection is a little overdue, but pretty sure they're not being used for anything petty around here (central Virginia).

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Benjamin Franklin in a letter to the PA legislature.

You know any? I go to Florida all the time and everyone I meet grew up somewhere else. My old neighbor in Charlotte NC grew up in Jacksonville. Really nice guy. Obviously he left.
The natives were finally flushed out during cv19, the insurance crisis, and double property values the upper north created... of course many are now leaving.

In my days in Ocala during the early 80s natives actually existed... I see a minor property value dip in my area of Florida now.

I doubt the natives will ever return 😔

Kansas law just went into effect 1 July. Grace period of no fines, warning only until 1 Jan 27. I took off my license frames and have bare license plate because I don't want to argue with anyone about what is obstruction or not. I can affix whatever I want on to the front of the car as Kansas is a single plate state.

Same law outlawed the dark tint plastic covers also at the same time.
