First oil filter you ever bought

Probably an orange Fram back in 1974 for my first car (1965 Ford Galaxy 500 with a 289 V8).

An STP from WM for my 1989 Mazda 323. $1.97, champ labs made, recommended by the "minimopar filter cut up study" circa 1999.

A $.99 cent Western Auto filter for my 65 Mustang. Later when I changed the oil and filter out there were bits of filter paper or cardboard coming out. I got exactly what I paid for.

Fram PH25 orange can for a 1970 Pontiac, in either 1988 or 1989. That was before I saw the cut-open display at the Carquest counter.

...summer '99? one of the BRAND NEW purolator Pure 1's like this (likely not this number, this is just a pic I found on the web)
Purolator-Pure-One-Oil-Filter-Pl30001.jpg

for my '87 Olds 98 (pre3800 branding 3.8l V6) along with PYB 10w30

weirdly (at least to me) the drain plug on that pan pointed forward. made the OC pretty easy. didn't really need to crawl under it
