First oil filter you ever bought

Fram orange back in the mid 1970's. Most likely a PH8A for a Ford.

Also a Fram PH8A for a 1973 Maverick. "You can pay me now, or pay me later".

FL1A, white body, I think it was a Purolator.

I remember going into the auto parts store when I was 16, they had a Wix display setup with a Fram, Puro and Wix cut open. The Fram with it's cardboard endcaps looked so sad that to this day I still can't bring myself to buy one.

Fram orange can. Thought they were the best back then (1989-90 ish..) I was active duty Navy at the time and a guy I served with worked at an oil change place part time (he was on shore duty at the time.) He said he would never put a FRAM on any vehicle he owned. The stigma began.....

I would use a FRAM ultra or TG any day.

Not sure about the cheapo though (Not really a cheapo price wise.) I just think there are better filters for the money.
