When both sides support something to me it means they both agree to go to the feeding trough together.
Just remember, no matter how cynical you get, you just can't keep up.When both sides support something to me it means they both agree to go to the feeding trough together.
NADA!! said to be built for multiple starts built i call BS. everytime it stops + oil pressure drops so does the crank loose most oil film!!! unless it can be turned off leave it on the dealers lot!!!
The cost of pot holes that knocking alignment out, damaging tires and wheels, etc. far out weighs the cost of repairing roads.I think that's a nationwide problem, it's why there's always talk of an infrastructure bill which both sides support in theory. The gas tax here is 26.4 cents a gallon, it doesn't really add up to that much when you have to pay high union wages and have guys standing around the work site watching other guys work.

That is the system mine has. I believe there is still a traditional starter for the cold starts.I drove a friends new RAM a few weeks ago.... it doesn’t even have a traditional starter! The S/S was seamless .... it was beautiful. instead of a traditional starter, there’s this .... 16 (?) hp alternator/motor sitting atop the hemi with a massive drive belt. It was their mild hybrid tech and I’ll wager that at least mechanically it will be more reliable - no brushes, solenoid or gear train to wear. Perhaps there’s a backup starter hanging out if the hybrid pack is depleted, but I couldn’t find one. There was nil cab shake when it transitioned.
i read up on it after getting home and must admit, they did a fine job with it, incorporating it into the transmission shift strategy as well. They may have one of the best implementations to date.

That is how BMW is starting to do it with the 42V electrical system. Traditional starter for cold starts only, then the 42V alternator/motor for SS. Will also add brake regen and acceleration boost as well.I drove a friends new RAM a few weeks ago.... it doesn’t even have a traditional starter! I wonder if anyone knows how much does that add to the cost of the BMW? How much does it add to a domestic car? Thanks. That is how BMW is starting to do it with the 42V electrical system. What? Without a manual spark advance?Mazda's i-stop injects fuel and ignites it to restart.

That's an example of the stupidity of taxing a particular technology or marketing term, vs. taxing actual results. It always results in inequities and unintended consequences. The old Malibu hybrid (2014ish) that pays the tax gets lower gas mpgs than the new regular gas Malibu that doesn’t pay the extra tax
the 1st year title plus registration can be an extra $400 as well.
... many hybrids don’t save $75 of fuel compared to the normal version of the car.
...
As we used to say back in the day, different strokes for different folks. I would never buy a car with this "feature" but if you like it, enjoy!I enjoy the feature.
I used to see that all the time at Acura. Never at BMW.As a dealer tech I see a couple issues with these systems every month, either the start/stop switch failure, starter failure, or as the batteries start to age they will cause the car to not start when releasing the brake.
That must be a real hoot at a traffic light on a busy highway. Sunrise Highway on Long Island comes to mind. That I'll get some of the road raged loonies that drive that road into full swing. As a dealer tech I see a couple issues with these systems every month, either the start/stop switch failure, starter failure, or as the batteries start to age they will cause the car to not start when releasing the brake.
