Engine auto start/stop feature ending soon.

I wouldn't buy a vehicle with this annoying 'feature' unless I had the choice to turn it off.
I wonder why the EPA doesn't ban fast food 'drive through' pick up where cars idle for long periods so that the customer isn't inconvenienced by having to actually go inside and pick up his/her food. I've seen cars idling for up to 15 or 20 minutes in order to pick up their 'Big Mac' which can't be good for the environment.

I can't tell when the cylinders deactivate durign driving.

The engine seems pretty smooth, is there any indicator that VCM is kicking on and off?
Honda has added hydraulic engine mounts that soften the vibrations of the VCM system. You’re probably talking about the ECO button. That doesn’t affect the VCM. Look into the SVCM. It plugs into the coolant temp sensor and harness. It tricks the computer it’s running cooler even though it’s not. VCM works off of coolant temp. I haven’t noticed change in MPG’s with it disabled.

On the 2023 and newer Pilots with the J35Y8 engine, there are no aftermarket devices for disabling VCM. Putting the drive mode into Sport or Tow disables auto start/stop as well as doesn't allow VCM to engage. The newer VCM system works differently from earlier generations.

FWIW: I wish the "last mode" selected (either on or off, depending on user preference) would be the default mode of operation. It is very annoying to have to disable this feature every single time I start the car which is my preference.

Easiest thing was to just add the delete module and go about my business. I did that on my VW Tiguan yesterday and am getting one for the Corsair on Tuesday….
