Do you add salt to your coffee

Is this trending?

Wife was talking about salt in coffee a couple days ago.

No and doesn’t remove bitterness or acid or anything really

Espresso water cream cocoa allulose sometimes

Dash of salt and a pinch of cinnamon in my Keurig make your own pods.
Drink black with a teaspoon of sugar.
I like a Wawa blend of 2/3 original 1/3 hazelnut with a bit of sugar.

I would probably like a lot of the fancy coffees at Starbucks but I find it intimidating in there. I still don’t know what all of the sizes mean and there are just too many choices to confuse me. Plus I don’t feel like paying $8 for a coffee 😳
The only thing I like about my local Starbucks is one of the tall and athletic late 30-ish/early 40-ish (?) baristas who is always talkative and super friendly with me. I go there to see her more than I do the cup of coffee.

My First job there was an old timer (navy WW II vet) who brought in eggshells from home each day and put the slightly crumbled egg shells in the basket along with the coffee grinds in a drip coffee maker. Coffee was excellent

To each their own. I don’t understand how people can drink it black. Tastes like death to me 🤣

Guess you just have to be tough enough.
I once worked with a guy who would pour a mug of coffee, then douse it with four creamers and five sugar packets.
My thought was why even bother drinking coffee if one hates it that much?
I'm sure that he could have found more palatable ways to get his jolt.
He did discontinue the practice at age 50 though, when he died of a massive coronary.

exactly...if you have to put so much sugar and creme in your coffee to cover up the coffee flavor maybe a new drink is in your future?
another negative to folks adding a specific amount of sugar and creme to their coffee is that if they are out somewhere and their preferred sweetener and cremes aren't available they can't drink coffee. Drink it black and you can drink it anywhere.

Why can’t people just accept that this is the way that people like it? I hear so many people ordering their coffee as double doubles.

Most people I suppose drink it black or with cream and sugar. Anyone using salt? I read the other day that just a tiny bit of salt can help reduce the bitter taste in some coffees. The salt interferes with the bitter taste bud.

I tried it and I must say that it really brightened up the flavor. My son has used salt in his coffee for quite some time.

So what do you all put in your coffee?

Huh? Really?
I might try it.

At home I use milk.
At work I use powder.
At a restaurant usually a little cream, but if they ask I'll order milk.

Never creamer like coffee mate, or sweetened additives from a pump.
If it doenst go bad or rot I try not to consume it.

My mother would put a dash, just a dash from the table shaker, of salt in the grounds when she was making coffee. She also washed her eggshells and placed some in the grounds. She said it took the bitter out. I don't really taste any difference, but some folks have their rituals.

Soy creamer. If your coffee is bitter it could be over ground. Growing up my parents used a spice grinder for grinding coffee beans. I bought a burr grinder and it makes a world of difference
