Coming to the end of my Redline stash, car burns about 1 qt/3500 miles. Not looking to poison the converter, so I was thinking about running a SM 5W-20 and doping with #132. Car is spec'ed for 5W-30 but newer 1NZ-FEs have the 5W-20 nod.

I have about 20 pts of #132 purchased years ago and looking for a use. I do about 30K a year so I like the longer interval OC. May try T6, but using what I got is always preferable.

Thoughts on the friendliness of 132?

It has 104 on the Phos, that's nothing, there's many motor oil's that have more Phos in them than this Schaeffer's 132.

I think you'd be fine. Moly EP away. A redline/Schaeffers 6w-25 anyone.

I suggest a good warming of the bottle and a turning end-over-end to remix the contents.

Not much moly but the antimony and the viscosity improver should help.

No appreciable amount of Zn or P to worry about. This will dilute your oil.

I make a brew of LC20 with 132, very miscible and works great for being portable and pourable.

Thanks for the help. I've decided to give this brew a go this summer. I will be floating the #132 bottle in a bath of boiling water and giving it a shake prior to use. I believe the bottles I purchased sat in a Kansas shed for months prior to my purchasing them.

I have 2 bottles of Schaeffers 132 that I have been waiting to use. I plan on putting one of them in for the Summer and running a 7500 mi OCI and sending out for a UOA.

Im looking forward to seeing your results also.

That was probably my shed. I had a boatload of Schaeffer's stuff shipped to me from Bob Winters (original BOBisTheOilGuy) when I first started talking to him way back when.

He wanted me to test and try out some stuff he was recommending and using himself.

I gave some 132 to my rancher and farmer friends in the area and they said it worked really well in diesel engines of all types and conditions.

Absolutely!!!

Any thoughts on adding some of that redline engine break-in ZDDP additive to this brew? The application would be OM616/617 MB diesel engines with an overhead cam design, so does not have pushrods... but it does have a rocker / cam follower, that pushes on the valve assembly...

Actually a few very respected and popular diesel shops use the Schaeffers 132 as a build / pre-lube for cams, bearings, etc on engine builds..

Since the additives in it are also found in their 7000 and 9000 oil lines no issues should be had with emissions equip. Very good product. One actual oil additive product that's not snake oil and coming from a real oil company it makes sense.
